FertileCM™ for Women
Recommended by fertility expert Amos Grunebaum, MD, and based on Nobel-Prize winning research, FertileCM is the dietary supplement designed to promote the healthy production of cervical mucus (CM) - the bodily fluid so important to fertility and conception. In addition to supporting the production of cervical fluids, the ingredients in FertileCM have also been shown to support a healthy endometrial (uterine) lining and increase female arousal, sexual sensitivity, and libido.
FertileCM integrates vitamins and key nutrients, including the amino acid L-Arginine, which promotes the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), a chemical that is produced naturally in the body and that supports several key bodily functions. In fertility, nitric oxide safely increases circulation and vascular relaxation in the reproductive organs, and supports the production of endocervical secretion during ovulation.° For trying-to-conceive women, FertileCM may increase the odds of pregnancy by enhancing the presence of fertile-quality cervical mucus.
In established studies, key ingredients in FertileCM have been shown to:
Naturally and safely support the production of cervical fluids.
Increase arousal and sexual stimulation.
Increase hydration of the mucin (liquidity of mucus).
Promote mucus alkalinity and mucosal thinning.
Support a healthy endometrial lining for successful implantation of the embryo.
FertileCM and the role of Cervical Fluid in Fertility
FertileCM is designed to naturally help women produce cervical mucus (fluids that are produced by glands inside the cervix) which in turn play a key role in fertility. Uterine cervical mucus is central to conceiving, both helping to nourish sperm and facilitate sperm transport. In order for conception to take place, sperm must swim through the cervix and uterus and ultimately to the fallopian tube where fertilization will occur. During a woman's fertile time, increased cervical mucus is normally produced by small glands situated inside the cervix. 'Fertile' cervical mucus (present around the time of ovulation) will also be 'thinner' (it is often compared to egg-white in texture) and more alkaline than other times of the month.
In human reproduction, fertile cervical mucus...
Permits passage of sperm through the cervix and uterus.
Provides nutritional support and protection for sperm.
Neutralizes acidity in the vagina during a woman's fertile time.
Helps in preventing infections.
Shields sperm and sustains sperm movement so conception may be achieved.
The Role of Sexual Arousal in Fertility
As Dr. Grunebaum indicates, "the odds of conceiving are improved through daily sexual intercourse during the fertile period, especially on days when quality cervical mucus is present. Making love regularly - and adequate arousal - will improve fertility. Sexual dysfunction, on the other hand, can delay pregnancy." In the FertileCM formula, L-Arginine has been shown to increase blood flow and vascular relaxation in the reproductive and sexual organs and, according to studies, safely enhance both sexual stimulation and libido. Through increased arousal, pleasure, and frequency of lovemaking during a woman's fertile time, the chances of conception may be improved.
FertileCM and the Importance of the Endometrial Lining in Implantation
Implantation (the attachment of the embryo to the uterine lining or endometrium) takes place about 7-10 days after ovulation and signals the first moment of pregnancy. Successful implantation requires a healthy endometrial lining and a "quiet uterus" (one that does not contract unnecessarily). L-Arginine, a major ingredient in FertileCM, promotes the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), which in turn enhances endometrial secretion and decreases uterine musculature contractions. Improved endometrial bloodflow and secretion - and a quiet uterus - may improve the chances of healthy implantation and pregnancy.
How does FertileCM Work?
FertileCM integrates several key ingredients that have been shown in clinical studies to safely and naturally promote the production of cervical fluids, support the 'thinning' of mucus, increase hydration of the mucin, as well as promote proper mucus alkalinity. In addition, the same ingredient that supports CM production (L-Arginine as nitric oxide precursor) has also been shown to induce edometrial secretion (creating a healthy uterus lining) during implantation time.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) is a key antioxidant and vitamin central to healthy cell function. In the FertileCM formula, vitamin C has been included to promote an increase in the hydration (or liquidity) of cervical mucus. As an antioxidant, L-ascorbic acid has been shown to modulate the mucin structure by reducing the copper bound to sialic acid. This will result in an increase in hydration (liquidity) of the mucin by the association of water molecules with the uncomplexed sialic acid molecules of the glycoproteins. The end result of a complex biological interaction is shown to be an increase in mucin hydration.
Coral Calcium: The inclusion of calcium in FertileCM is designed to support proper mucus pH (or increased alkalinity) and to help reduce sperm-harming acidity in the vagina during the ovulatory phase.
Lactobacilli: Lactobacilli are organisms necessary for a healthy vaginal environment. The absence of vaginal Lactobacilli may lead to an environment that is hostile to sperm and may further be associated with infertility issues and infections. FertileCM contains Lactobacilli to help support female reproductive wellness and support a healthy environment in the vagina.
Grapeseed Extract: Grapeseed extract is a strong antioxidant and helps inhibit the oxidation of ascorbic acid and thereby potentiates the action of vitamin C. Antioxidants play a key role in repairing damage caused by the environment and aging - and in preventing cellular damage due to oxidizing free radicals. The increased presence of antioxidants in cervical fluids may provide additional protection and support for sperm.
N-acetylcysteine. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a precursor of glutathione, an important antioxidant that is naturally produced within the body. NAC has safely been in use for more than 30 years as a mucolytic - an agent which dissolves thick mucus and thins overall mucus secretions. In studies, NAC has been shown to help thin mucus and detoxify harmful substances in the body.
Recommended Use: As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules daily (1 at each mealtime). Discontinue use once pregnancy has been achieved. To support the benefits of FertileCM, drink at least 64 ounces of water daily. If you are using prescription fertility drugs, consult with a physian before using FertileCM
